In 2004, Fifa celebrated its 100th with a list of the top 100 living players in the league, the "Fifa 100". This was to be compiled by the greated of them all, Pele. After Pele encountered some difficulty whittling the list down to just 100 players, a list of 125 players was settled on. The list has been subject to some controversy, as some claim it includes more players from outside the core (foot ball / soccer) countries than a list based solely on ability should. | |
